Sustainability at Gerster
Responsibility for the environment and the future
For us, sustainability is more than just a trend—it is an integral part of our corporate philosophy. At Gustav Gerster GmbH & Co. KG, we attach great importance to Environmentally friendly, resource-efficient, and socially responsible production processes. Our goal: products that not only impress with their quality and design, but also make a sustainable contribution.
We offer a wide range of certified items that comply with the highest international standards be manufactured – including:
- GRS (Global Recycled Standard)
Certifies the use and traceability of recycled materials throughout the entire production chain and sets requirements for environmental and social standards.
- GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
The world’s leading standard for textiles made from organically produced natural fibers—from cultivation to delivery.
- OCS (Organic Content Standard)
Confirms the proportion of organic fibers in a product and ensures their transparent and sustainable origin.
Additionally, we increasingly rely on recycled materials, especially in our fabric collections. A growing share of our curtain fabrics already consists of recycled polyester, helping us conserve natural resources and reduce waste.

Future strength
Acting sustainably, securing the future
We are also exploring new approaches in product packaging :
More and more of our products are offered in plastic-free, recyclable packaging —visually appealing, practical for retail, and sustainable in disposal.
Another key pillar of our sustainability strategy is the transition to renewable energy. In recent years, we have made significant investments in photovoltaic systems at our headquarters in Biberach—and we plan to continue this path consistently. This reduces our carbon footprint and actively contributes to the energy transition.
With every one of our sustainable products, you choose not only quality and design but also responsibility—for the environment, society, and future generations.
