When it comes to current trends, colors, materials, or designs, Paris is always an important destination. In January, three major trade fairs took place there: Maison & Objet, Paris Deco Off, and Paris Deco Home. Michael Studer, our designer and head of trimmings, was there to meet many important Gerster customers, spot trends, and analyze market opportunities.
Outdoor furniture, outdoor cushions, outdoor rugs, and parasols are clearly in vogue in the textile sector. Another trend of interest to Gerster is cushions that have a beautiful look thanks to their fringed edges, bushy effilées, or fine piping. A second noticeable trend: emotion is back. Emotional textile worlds with great attention to textile detail, with fine contrasts and exciting pattern mixes. We at Gerster are happy to embrace these trends and look forward to them!
