At first, it was a chance coincidence. Michael Studer, our general manager for trimmings, welcomed a high-profile delegation from the well-known textile manufacturer Thibaut in the U.S. This happened to coincide exactly with the Gerster in-house exhibition. But our US guests were quite pleased with the scheduling overlap: dining and socializing in the Gerster festival tent, lively conversations with Gerster management, and enjoying ice cream at the Gerster self-service ice cream stand.
Above all, of course, we got down to business. We discussed new topics and made progress on ongoing projects. We reviewed hundreds of samples and ideas, some of which were shortlisted for future projects. Our visitors were also impressed by the tour of the production facilities, including the current manufacturing of new Thibaut products. For us, and especially for the Gerster Trimmings Division, the visit was a positive and encouraging sign from an important international customer.
