Er war sehr wichtig. Und er war sehr produktiv: Der Besuch der diesjährigen „Salone del Mobile 2026“ in der Design-Metropole Mailand. Mit einem dreiköpfigen Kreativ-Team um den Designer und Trimmings-Gesamtverantwortlichen Michael Studer wurden Produkte begutachtet, Trends gesichtet und neue Kontakte geknüpft.

Die diesjährigen Mailand-Trends sind teilweise jene, die schon seit mehreren Jahren dominieren: Dezente Grundfarben wie creme, sand, natur. Grobe, dreidimensionale Textilqualitäten. Als Akzentfarbe war Grün, ins Oliv tendierend, zu beobachten, gefolgt von Orange-Tönen mit Anteilen aus Terra- und Rost-Tönen. Die Formensprache der Polstermöbel ist meist voluminös, bodentief, sanft gerundet, organisch, mit niedrigen oder mittelhohen Rückenlehnen. Auffällig war auch der nochmals gestiegene Anteil an Outdoor-Möbeln.

Wie in Mailand üblich, galt es nicht nur, auf dem Messegelände in Rho die 1900 Aussteller aus über 30 Ländern zu begutachten. Nachmittags und abends schlossen sich zusätzliche Besuche in den zahlreichen Showrooms in der Innenstatt an. Ein solcher Messebesuch, zumal komprimiert auf nur zwei Tage, ist sowohl inspirierend, als auch strapazierend. Am Ende eines Messe-Tages zeigte der Schrittzähler dann 35.000 an.

We were present at the careers fair at Max-Weishaupt Secondary School in Schwendi and were able to give many interested pupils an insight into the apprenticeships we offer.

The numerous discussions focused on prospects, opportunities and starting out in the world of work – an all-round successful event!

From 24. bis 25. Juni 2026 Hometex – one of the leading trade fairs for home textiles, home living and interior design – is taking place at the Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Centre.

When it comes to current trends, colors, materials, or designs, Paris is always an important destination. In January, three major trade fairs took place there: Maison & Objet, Paris Deco Off, and Paris Deco Home. Michael Studer, our designer and head of trimmings, was there to meet many important Gerster customers, spot trends, and analyze market opportunities.

Outdoor furniture, outdoor cushions, outdoor rugs, and parasols are clearly in vogue in the textile sector. Another trend of interest to Gerster is cushions that have a beautiful look thanks to their fringed edges, bushy effilées, or fine piping. A second noticeable trend: emotion is back. Emotional textile worlds with great attention to textile detail, with fine contrasts and exciting pattern mixes. We at Gerster are happy to embrace these trends and look forward to them!

On 21 and 22 January, we were present at the SÜDBUND Housing Fair in Backnang – and enjoyed two inspiring days with many interested trade visitors. The SÜDBUND Housing Fair is one of the most important trade fairs in the industry in Germany and offers a unique exhibition experience twice a year.

More than 100 exhibitors presented their latest trends and products in the industry. Numerous trade visitors took the opportunity to find out about our latest product developments, current home and decoration trends, and our inspiring fabric collections.

We would like to thank all visitors for their keen interest and inspiring discussions – and we are already looking forward to the next time!

The next SÜDBUND Home Fair will take place on 22 and 23 September 2026.

On 13 and 14 January 2026, we presented our latest curtain collection for the first time at Motel One BeOne in Frankfurt. The exhibition venue was located in the immediate vicinity of the Heimtextil trade fair in Frankfurt (approx. 200 metres away), making it an ideal meeting place for trade fair visitors, customers and business partners.

We were delighted to welcome numerous visitors on both days of the exhibition. In a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, we had many inspiring and fruitful conversations. Our collection met with widespread interest and a positive response throughout.

We would like to express our sincere thanks for your trust, the intensive exchange of ideas and the many valuable contacts.
